Sweet but dissatisfying: The Secret World of Arrietty

I was surprised when the movie ended because the ending seemed to be holding out on us.

Then I realized that all throughout, The Secret World of Arrietty does not ask anything of us, and when it does, it seems to too quickly forget that it did--what it did ask of us. It's almost too desirous of making us feel comfortable.
